| How many treatments will I need? |
Hair grows in different cycles; therefore all hairs ar not
visible at the same time. Many factors will determine how many
treatments you may need. For example, your hair texture, density,
the area being treated and the temporary methods previously
used.
|
| How expensive is electrolysis? |
Electrolysis treatments are charged by the length of time.
Most clients are pleasantly surprised how affordable treatments
are. The size and hair density of the area to be treated will
determine your cost.
|
| Do you use disposable probes and sterilize equipment? |
Absolutely! I follow stringent sterilization procedures.
I only use sterilized disposable probes, sterilized forceps
and a new pair of disposable gloves for every client. Monitored
by the Department of Health and Welfare.

| About Electrolysis Treatment |
| Hair Growth |
| The growth of excess facial hair is related to the balance
of estrogen and testosterone. Women produce these hormones in
a fine balance. The female system allows for menstruation, reproduction
and menopause. If the system malfunctions this can result is
excess testostrone which presents itself as thick dark hair
on the face, breasts and lower abdomen. If you have a sudden
onset of hair growth within a year or less, then these should
be investigated as to which organ has the hormone malfuntion.
Hormones may become active with age as a result of medications
for glandular disturbances. Hair growth may be genetic per disposition,
or as simple as an idiopathic reason (no determined cause.)
|
| Regrowth Hair |
Hairs that are present, 20% - 30% per treatment. Hairs that
are present can only be treated. Hairs that appear one to two
weeks after treatment are not regrowth.
A regrowth hair is finer in texture, lighter and much more featherlike
in appearance.
In order to completely clear an area of resting and regrowth
hair, it is important to maintain regular follow-up treatments.
Each person is individual in their treatment program.

| Client Expectations |
- Electrolysis is not a cure for superfluous hair, it permanently
stops hair growth only in the hair follicle treated.
- Hair growth is due to hormones, electrolysis stops growth
of existing hair by destroying the root, not the hormone.
- When hairs seem to reappear they are not the same hairs.
The are new hairs growing from dormant follicles stimulated
by the hormone.
- Once the area is completed, it is normal for a person to
receive one or two touch-up treatments a year just as a checkup.
- If hair is tampered with before treatment begins (ie waxed
or tweezed) this may cause distorted follicles making electrolysis
difficult because of distorted follicles. However not impossible
under a skilled practitioner.

| Post-Treatment Care |
Keep clean. Apply Tea Tree cream. The area may be slightly pink
after treatment. It should disppear within a few hours.
Sometimes tiny crusts appear over some of the treated follicles.
This is normal and you should not be disturbed, premature removal
hinders the healing process.
Avoid moisturizers, night creams, and the sun for 24 hours. |
